Michael W. Stover

Artist’s Reception – March 11, 5 to 7pm

Michael’s early works were pencil sketches and pastels, many renderings of his impressions of his beloved hometown. As his parallel professional career progressed, so did his personal artistic exploration into a variety of media and expressions. He worked in window dressing, printing and, ultimately, in graphic arts, eventually retiring from corporate work in 2012.

In 2022, Michael moved to Columbus, Ohio, where the pursuit of his artistic passion has taken him to new heights. Most recently, he has been creating abstract and fluid art in acrylics. Just this past summer, a showing of his fluid art was featured at 83 Gallery in Olde Town East (Columbus).

Michael revels working in his independent studio in northeast Columbus. Today, he does quite a bit of commissioned work and many of his paintings grace the homes of private collectors.

Michael’s inner artist was roused at a young age by two of his first art teachers. His memories of Mrs. Dean and Mrs. Keene at DuPont High School in Charleston, West Virginia, still make him smile. Both these art instructors recognized Michael’s talent, saw his promise, and profoundly encouraged, supported, and influenced him going forward.
